MI: Smaller utilities invited to submit rate-design proposals
The Michigan Public Service Commission has advised eight smaller electric utilities that they may file applications by 6/17/2016 that examine the cost-allocation methods and rate-design methods they use to set rates for electric customers, pursuant to P.A. 169 of 2014 (Case No. U-17711 et al.) The PSC’s order applies to Alpena Power Company, Northern States Power Company – Wisconsin, Upper Peninsula Power Company, Wisconsin Electric Power Company, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, Cloverland Electric Cooperative, Midwest Energy Cooperative and Thumb Electric Cooperative. The PSC has already issued similar orders that apply to DTE, Indiana Michigan Power and Consumers Energy, but those three utilities are required to submit proposals.
